Susan G. Komen for the Cure® is the global leader of the breast cancer movement, having invested more than $1.9 billion since inception in 1982. As the world’s largest grassroots network of breast cancer survivors and activists, the organization is working together to save lives, empower people, ensure quality care for all and energize science to find the cures. Thanks to events like the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure® and the Susan G. Komen 3-Day for the Cure®, and generous contributions from our partners, sponsors and fellow supporters, Susan G. Komen has become the largest source of nonprofit funds dedicated to the fight against breast cancer in the world. Social Media Outreach contributors are engaging donations and bringing awareness to the program.
Habitat for Humanity is a nonprofit organization, founded on the conviction that every man, woman and child should have a decent, safe and affordable place to live. Nearly 2 billion people around the world live in slum housing and over 100 million are homeless. Habitat for Humanity is needed to help eliminate poverty by providing simple, decent shelter to those in need.
Families left homeless by natural disasters, war and civil unrest often face dire housing situations as they struggle to rebuild their lives. Habitat for Humanity’s Disaster Response program provides shelter and housing solutions to help these families recover. Social Media Outreach contributors are engaging donations and bringing awareness to the program.
National Coalition for the Homeless – The National Coalition for the Homeless is a national network of people who are currently experiencing or who have experienced homelessness, activists and advocates, community-based and faith-based service providers, and others committed to a single mission. That mission, our common bond, is to end homelessness. The National Coalition for the Homeless (NCH) engages in public education, policy advocacy, and grassroots organizing. NCH focuses their work in the following 4 areas: housing justice, economic justice, health care justice, and civil rights. Art From the Streets – Art from the Streets is a volunteer-run program that provides a safe and encouraging environment where the positive spirit and creativity of homeless people is nurtured through artistic expression. Art by the homeless is sold to benefit the homeless artists. Social Media Outreach promotes this cause through our community on Facebook and Linked In.
Oak Lawn Community Outreach Center – With multiple programs to benefit the homeless, Rostin Ventures is assisting the organization with promotion of a proposed community greenhouse. Oak Lawn Community Outreach Center’s initiative will create organic, solar-powered greenhouse (www.greenhouseoutreachprogram.org) to provide free, fresh produce to local, low-income grocery programs, homeless, local church homeless feeding program, as well as acting a living laboratory for children to learn about the value of growing things in an urban environment.
